Reviews

  • A TRUE return to form

Gaga has proven herself time and time again. For the first time in 7 years, she delivers a steller dance album without a ballad in sight. She offers up vulnerablity and confidence simultaneously while singing about mental health issues in a way that's never been done before in pop music.
  • Good album... very Madonna

This album takes you on a ride. However, it’s all been done before. People will continue to copy Madonna. Chromatica doesn’t just shyly try to copy, it shamefully does. Madonna’s presence is all over this, but sadly, no collaboration.
  • Probably her Best Dance Album

I’ve been listening to this on repeat for days now. Love it!!! It’s been a looong time since she rocked a dance album like this one.

Lots of big big' tunes on the latest Gaga album after the maudlin Joanne and the hammy 'Star is Born' - it's back to the Gaga who wanted to take a ride on your disco stick. Great song with Arriana, ignore the nonsense Gaga speaks about making Grande do something "different" with her voice, she sounds exactly the same, which is a good thing. Video for this track is epic but did they have to have the rain represented by daggers? With knife crime rampant in our cities, it seems crass to show Gaga pulling a dagger out of her thigh. Yuck. The dancing is good though - although its interesting that it hasn't moved on a lot since Janet Jackson circa 1980's. Maybe its a homage? Stupid Love is a banger, Enigma and Sour Candy too. Sine Wave is a big dance production with the added bonus of SrrrElton, who is 156 years old, barking out Gaga's ludicrous lyrics: "When I was young, I thought I was immort. Ill./Blahblah blah blah it's a strugg. Ill." Hilarious, no doubt he had a massive strop when he read the lines he had to sing. But very catchy and it sure makes you want to dance. So, well done Gaga, but especailly well done BloodPop for the 80's production cues. (Now Madge needs to match the bet and up it with her next album which needs to be a return to the "Confessions" era. If you're gonna rip off the 80's then it helps it you can rip off yourself!)

I got the Target CD that came with 1000 Dove (Piano Demo),Stupid Love (Vitaclub Warehouse Mix) and a bonus song called Love Me Right which is a really great songs as well.

And I'm not even the biggest Gaga fan. But wow -- this album is such a good time. A mix of futuristic pop and nostalgic club music ('80s/'90s) that is perfect for running/dancing/partying. I worried Gaga had peaked and/or was moving into some weird movie path ala Madonna. But she is back, she owns... and makes recent stuff like Dua Lipa seem pretty f***ing basic on every front.

It’s a dance album for sure!!! Chromatica is one of Gaga’s best albums and one of the best albums of 2020. She has gone back to her roots but most importantly she is raw and transparent with her messages about love, abuse, depression, alcoholism, misogyny, redemption, self-love, and independence. Alice, Rain on Me, Plastic Doll, Replay, Sour Candy, Free Woman, and Sine From Above are some of my favorites. There are no skips!!
