Vader Abraham (Petrus Antonius Laurentius Kartner) was born in Elst, Netherlands, on 11 april 1935. He is one of the famoust singers in the 'levensliederen' (Songs about life). He became famous when he performed as Vader Abraham at the 'Schlagerfestival', with a song about 'The Smurfs'. That song is also known as: "Vader Abraham - Het Smurfenlied." 'Smurfenlied' is bought about 25 million times worldwide. About 250 artists did make a cover of Vader Abraham's popular song 'Het kleine café aan de haven'.
