Peste Noire is a black metal band from La Chaise Dieu, France, formed by La sale Famine de Valfunde in 2000 with the help of Neige (Alcest) on drums. According to its leader, the band plays "Gothic, Fantastique, grotesque, archaeofuturist black metal". In 2011, Famine created his own label and studio, La mesnie Herlequin, in order to have complete control over the production, recording and distribution of Peste Noire's music.The band is sometimes referred to as P.N. or K.P.N (« Kommando Peste Noire »)

This LP contains the recording a rehearsal Peste Noire did in the French province of Lorraine in August of 2007. The recording is completely unmixed or edited in any way. All songs have been written by Famine, except for 'La Cesarienne', which was written by Neige. Famine's guitar can be heard on the left, while Neige's guitarplaying comes out of the right speaker. The B-side of the LP contains an alternative version of the 'Phalènes et Pestilence - Salvatrice Averse', which was recorded in 2005, and reaches over 20 minutes in length. Read more on Last.fm.
